Per letter from the Federal CIO, State Secretary Dr. Markus Richter (Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Comunity), Germany as signed on to the International Open Data Charter as a government adopter. The step fulfills a remaining milestone of an open data committment in the 2nd National Action plan in the framework of Germany’s participation in the OGP and follows the announcement of the Federal Government’s first ever Open Data Strategy published in July this year. That strategy was developed in line with the Charter and itself complements the Federal Government’s broader data strategy that was published earlier this year.
